MultiBit Classic help

MultiBit Classic (2011–2017) stores individual private keys in .wallet and .key files — there is no seed phrase. The common problems are a forgotten password, a wallet that won't open, and a balance that looks wrong. The MultiBit Classic guide explains where the files live and how to export your keys.

MultiBit HD help

MultiBit HD (2014–2017) is backed by a 12-, 18- or 24-word seed phrase and stores data in an mbhd.wallet.aes file. Who can help me with my MultiBit wallet?

Can anyone recover my forgotten MultiBit password?

It depends on the wallet. A MultiBit HD wallet can be restored from its 12-, 18- or 24-word seed phrase without the password. For MultiBit Classic, an unencrypted .key export imports directly.
